Coach Alex Williams
Coach Alex is passionate about helping young athletes develop the skills, confidence, and character needed to succeed both on and off the softball field. He strives to create a positive, competitive environment where players are challenged to grow, compete with confidence, and reach their full potential. He believes the lessons learned through sports—discipline, accountability, perseverance, teamwork, and putting others before yourself—will serve these young ladies long after their playing days are over.
Coach Alex graduated from Christian Brothers High School before earning a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University. After college, he returned to Memphis and founded Alexander Construction, LLC, a commercial construction company that has served the Mid-South for the past 17 years. As President and Owner, he has worked to build a business centered on hard work, preparation, teamwork, communication, and accountability—values that continue to shape his approach to coaching.
For the past three seasons, Coach Alex has served as Head Coach of his daughter GraceAnne’s softball team at Evangelical Christian School while also serving as an assistant coach for the Germantown Lady Rays and Lady Stars. In addition, he coached for five years in the Germantown Softball House Program, introducing young athletes to the game while helping them build strong fundamentals, confidence, and sportsmanship.
As a coach, Coach Alex is committed to giving his very best to the team while balancing the responsibilities of leading a business, being a husband, and being a father. He and his wife, Anne, have been married for 17 years and are the proud parents of GraceAnne, who is entering the ninth grade at Evangelical Christian School. When he’s not at the office, on a job site, or at the ballpark, you’ll most likely find him duck hunting, fishing or spending time with his family at the lake.
Coach Alex’s goal is to help every player strengthen her skills, compete with confidence, support her teammates, and represent the 901 Rays with character and integrity. He values clear communication, purposeful practices, and making every moment with the girls count. He is grateful for the opportunity to coach this team and looks forward to helping each player grow—not only as an athlete, but as a teammate and young woman.
